European Parliament election 2009 in the media agenda of Lidove Noviny and Právo

The diploma thesis named The EU Parliament Election in the Media Agenda of Lidove noviny and Pravo summarizes and analyzes the media agenda that deals with the topic of EU Parliament elections in 2009. The analysis focuses on two Czech dailies - Pravo and Lidove noviny - during the period from 7th March to 7th June. The main research questions of the analysis are how the main agenda news is shaped, e.g. what the main massage of the news is, the main topic of the news deals with and what speakers hold the position in the articles. While dealing with the media agenda, this study uses the quantitative content analysis is a common instrument that could be applied to this type of data. In the theorethical way, the diploma thesis is based on the studies that checked the validity of agenda-setting on the macro-structural level
