Subject of Frida Kahlo, Mexican and popular art is theme of my master's thesis "Inspiration in the art work of Frida Kahlo" for The Institute of The Ibero - American Studies at The Charles University in Prague. I dissert on researching whether pre- Columbian symbols, popular art, religious or everyday motives are present in the artwork of Frida Kahlo. This analyse is completed with pictorial analyse. This thesis is focused on social studies especially on Mexican art and traditions. My thesis reveal in broad picture of nationalistic tendencies in context of Mexican revolution at the beginning of the 20th century.
