Rising the Quality of Care by Means of Audit Healthcare Documentation

Presently, the finding better ways to deliver healthcare to patients is a key topic. This diploma thesis endeavored to provide readers with basic understanding of the healthcare quality and its continual improvement in healthcare institutions and it described the auditing of the healthcare documentation as well. The aim of the diploma thesis was to identify an influence of the certification in accordance to ISO standards. The diploma thesis was divided into the theoretical part and the practical part. In the first one, I put mind to the healthcare quality from different points of view. Then, I described kinds of the management systems, the quality evaluation and the healthcare documentation in accordance to current legislative. In the practical part of the diploma thesis, I analyzed 64 healthcare documentations with the help of the "Control Sheet", which was created in accordance to the legislative of the Czech Republic. I also took into account The Joint Commission Standards. The "Control Sheet" was divided into several parts - medical, nursing and administrative. The aim of this part of the diploma thesis was to identify whether the ISO standards implementation in the healthcare institutions led to increase in the quality of the healthcare documentation
