Use of Controlled Hypothermia in Patients after Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Therapeutic hypothermia is considered standard of care in patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation of their effect on reducing the volume of brain impairment. Diploma thesis deals with the differences in the use of therapeutic hypothermia among university and district hospitals. The theoretical data give an overview of the physiology of thermoregulation, the body reactions to hypothermia, the pathophysiology of cerebral ischemia, controlled hypothermia and possible methods of cooling.
