The thesis is divided into two parts. A theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part, describes physiological childbirth. Its partial phases, work of midwives and treatment for newborn child. Aromatherapy, homeopathy, acupuncture and acupressure are described as well. There is a note about a birth plan, childbirth at home and outpatient childbirth. Longer, empirical part was carried out by a method of guantitative research. It was supposed to discover what kinds of alternative methods were offered to women and which of them the women used.
