Analysis of songs to The Lord's Supper

Analysis of songs related to The Lord's Supper is he main subject of the presented thesis. Songs from the following songbooks are analysed: Evangelical Songbook (Evangeliský zpěvník) and Supplement to the Evangelical Songbook (Dodatek k Evangelickému zpěvníku) of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren, Evangelical Hymnbook (Evangelický kancionál) of the Silesian Evangelical Church of Augsburg Confession, Brethren Songbook (Bratrský zpěvník) of the Moravian Church, Let us Sing to the LORD (Zpívejme Hospodinu) songbook of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Hymnbook (Kancionál) of the Catholic Church. Detailed analysis is conducted on the songs from the Evangelical Songbook and Supplement to the Evangelical Songbook-using a special method inspired by three different methods developed by Andreas Marti, Hans-Jürgen Stefan, and Martin Rössler. The method is described in Chapter 1. Crucial point of the analysis is theological examination of the songs. With the four remaining songbooks, main theological themes relating to The Lord's Supper are noted. Songs, their theological themes and the conceptions of The Lord's Supper are then summarised and compared, arriving thus at the strong and weak points of the individual songbooks and at their particularity.
