The dissertation concentrates on the historical development of Mateřídouška, the oldest czech belletristic periodical destined for children. The main effort was to study Mateřídouška in wide context from the period of the creation in 1945 till the actual form. On the one hand this periodical associate closely with a specific domestic political situation in the second half of the 20th century and a post-revolution released time when the commercial interests entered in children's literature. On the other hand the periodical focuses on artistic contribution both in the sphere of prose and poetry, and in comics, illustration and general graphic art as well.
