Basic school teachers' prestige issues

This thesis offers an overview of basic school teachers' prestige as a recently welldiscussed issue. The theoretical part describes the basic information about the prestige of the basic school teachers' profession, it summarizes the actual findings referring to this issue, it analyzes the elements which influence how the prestige of the teachers' profession is valued by the general public and the teachers themselves. In the second part there is a small research on how the basic school teachers look at the prestige of their own profession and on the possible ways of raising this prestige
