Scope of use of project teaching in relation to cultural-historical institution

This Master's thesis is aimed at exploring the concept 'learning outside the classroom' (Project Teaching) for primary school grades one through five and its use in the creation of educational programs for deeper cooperation between schools and cultural-historical institutions. The work is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the history of this particular educational method, the transformation of Czech education since 1989, curriculum differentiation and methodological procedures which should be changed according to the needs of our changing society and its subsequent impact on pupils and their learning. The second part focuses on "learning outside the classroom" (Project Teaching). The aim of the third, practical section is to examine the educational potential of culturalhistorical institutions in the formation of projects for children within the first five years of primary school. One of four training programmes based on the main concepts of "learning outside the classroom" (Project Teaching) is described.
