Problems of lower palaeolithic small sized industries in Central Europe

Recent research of Lower Palaeolitic has brought new knowledge that changes in many way previously held views of this period. The development of human culture followed complex paths that reflect the adptation of Man to the natural conditions of the Middle Pleistocene. The existence of complexes of small sized tools, which appeared and existed alongside the Acheulian culture, can be regarded as one such adaptation. From the point of view of the raw materials and mode appearing not a case of a predominantely pebble industry. Various raw material modes were used in production which were deliberately chosen in direct association with the type of artefact which is required. From the point of view of size this type industries are small sized. Subject of this paper is detail typological and morphological evaluation of this type industries in Central Europe with analogical newly discovered and investigated localities in Bohemia (Slaný II, Tmaň, Velké Přítočno, Kročehlavy, Karlštejn-Altán, Horky II)
