Prehistoric settlement of the northern part of west Bohemia

Prehistoric settlement ofthe northem part ofWest Bohemia This thesis describes and analyses prehistoric and early medieval settlement of the northem part of West Bohemia on the basis of archaeological sources. Selected sites together with history of excavation on them and some fmding situations are briefly described. Data processing from 300 archaeological sites were done using computer programs for Geographic Informational Systems and statistics, spatial relationship of archaeological sources to natural environment was the evaluated data. The analysis shows different intensity of archaeological evidence of settlement in the northem part - upward flux of the river Ohře region, and the southem part - the river Mže region, within themselves and also a strip of area virtually without any archaeologically significant data between them
