The diploma thesis analyzes the transformation process of tertiary sector in Czechoslovakia; respectively in Czech Republic between 1989-1997/98 by analyzing the condition of this sector before 1989. The limitation is given by collapse of centrally planned economy and the economic crisis in 1997. The main objective is to idnetify and explain the profound changes in Czechoslovak, respectively Czech tertiary sector; focusing on media sector. In this thesis I will examine whether, in the period of transformation after 1989, was more successful public entity Czech television or private commercial TV Nova.
