Resumen: la psico-oncología es una disciplina relativamente moderna que surge como respuesta a los diferentes retos psicosociales que plantea la atención al enfermo de cáncer: su problemática emocional, el manejo del dolor y los cuidados paliativos, entre otros. Se analizaron las deficiencias interaccionales familiares y la resiliencia total en los padres de 154 niños y adolescentes, entre 8 meses y 16 años de edad, respectivamente, en tratamiento oncológico.
