Strategy for Coconut Agribusiness Development to Increase Farmers' Income in Indragiri Hilir Distric, Riau ProvinceDevelopment of coconut agribusiness is important in increasing farmers income and urgent to increasing productivity and farmers income. Coconut has an important role on the economy of Indonesia as an providing job opportunity, raw material of internal country industry, and direct consumption most of coconut production not related to the processing industry, downstream industry, as well as service institution. As the consequences, coconut agribusiness fails to distribute addad value, and is not able to increase farmers income. Some factors influence agribusiness system in Indragiri Hilir: (1) most of the technology could not be adopted by the farmes and (2) less coconut product diversification.The strategy to develop coconut agribusiness in Indragiri Hilir: (1) product diversification to increase market absorption capacity, (2) promotion program of marketing on the world market, through embassy and other institutions, and (3) making eficient use of farmers in the existing organization such as farmers group cooperativws
