The Ground Penetrating Radar test applied to road engineering is overall used to determine the geometric characteristics of the pavement structure by analyzing the wave in the time domain. On many cases, it is often used to assess the stiffness modulus of structural layers analysis using the method known as retro-calculation, as it is indicated by the main guide mechanistic-empirical design of asphaltic pavements.However, the geophysic principles on which the GPR test is based, allows obtaining the data associated with the pavement and its structural condition.
