For so many of us, inspired by Elise Boulding's writing, research, and teaching, reading her biography is bound to become a tantalizing experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It has helped me put “a life” to familiar face, ideas and professional activities. Some of it I already knew, however, this book presented even the most widely known facts from Elise Boulding's life in a new light. And it has, of course, revealed so much more. It has helped contextualize and historicize “A Life in the Cause of Peace,” life of sociologist, futurist, feminist, peace activist, and theorist Elise Boulding.
