Characterisation of Stormwater Pollutants from Various Catchment types in South‐east Queensland

The Stormwater industry’s understanding of pollutant concentrations for various catchment types in Australia, rests significantly on the seminal works undertaken by the CRC for Catchment Hydrology in the early 1990s. Selected studies were performed in Brisbane and Melbourne to feed into MUSIC modelling guidelines for these regions soon thereafter. Since then, several studies into the characterisation of stormwater pollutant concentrations in Australia have been undertaken. The studies have gathered information on lumped residential catchments, residential catchments incorporating Water Sensitive Urban Design principles, typical commercial catchments, road surfaces and medium density townhouse catchments. This paper seeks to compare these studies with current research on various catchment landuse types and present an update on potential inputs into the MUSIC pollutant generation formulae for Southeast Queensland
