From a Perspective of Olympic Goal to Examine the Participation Values of National High School Athletic Games in Changhua.

[[abstract]]This research is mainly from a perspective of olympic goal to examine the participation values of National High School Athletic Games in Changhua in 2017.This study used the newspaper content analysis method and the questionnaire survey method with the participants of National High School Athletic Games in Changhua in 2017. Using quota sampling, this study distributed 316 questionnaires in all 17 competition fields, courses or stadiums with a total of 285 valid questionnaires (90.2%). Questions asked athlete participants about participation values (motives), constraints and opportunity cost, and the participation intention in National High School Athletic Games (NHSAG) and the Olympic games. The study found that the most important values of participation in National High School Athletic Games in 2017 are pursuing a higher education accounted for 39%, followed by personal sense of accomplishment, that is, to enhance self-worth of 30%. Second, the most important influencing factors on participation in National High School Athletic Games in 2017 are individual ability accounted for 41%, then family support and exercise injuries. Iindividual ability appears to be the most important and necessary condition for athletes to participation in NHSAG. Third, the relationship between participation intention of National High School Athletic Game and participation intention of Olympic game is significant and positive. For the group who has high constraints to participate in NHSAG, the correlation coefficient between the willingness to participate in NHSAG and the willingness to participate in the Olympic Games is 0.394. By contrast, for the group who has low constraints to participate in NHSAG, the correlation coefficient between the willingness to participate in NHSAG and the willingness to participate in the Olympic Games is 0.549. Comparison between the willingness to participate in National High School Athletic Games with the willingness to participate in the Olympic Game showed that participate intention in NHSAG is significantly higher than that in the Olympic Game with paired samples T test’s T value = 7.095, p value
