Although the World Wide Web has evolved to be an enormous resource over the last decade, sifting through all the information available poses a significant challenge to users as there is simply too much information available. Therefore, systems that support users by performing personalized information filtering or search are becoming increasingly important. This paper presents a mechanism which provides recommendations based on a user profile that adapts to the changing user interests. Taking the multiple and diverse information needs of the user into consideration, the proposed mechanism constructs a user profile that adapts according to the changing user requirements. © 2011 IEEE
