In this master’s thesis, I studied how two different class II hydrophobins HFBI and HFBII from Trichoderma reesei fungus behave at air-water interface and how the addition of a fusion protein DCBM-RLP-HFBI influences their behaviour. Hydrophobins are a family of small molecular weight proteins produced by filamentous fungi that are highly surface-active. As a polypeptide, hydrophobin consists of several amino acids. Hydrophobins have a unique sequence of amino acids; almost all of them have eight cysteine amino acid residues. These eight cysteine amino acids create four disulphate bonds between each other.
