Acceptance of homosexuality by ethnic and religious groups in the Netherlands

Original title: De acceptatie van homoseksualiteit door etnische en religieuze groepen in Nederland lthough acceptance of homosexuality in the Netherlands is high compared with other countries, there are still certain groups where this acceptance cannot be taken for granted. To gain a better picture of this, an exploratory study was carried out at the request of the Emancipation department at the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The purpose of this study is to use existing data to gain an impression of the level of acceptance of homosexuality and developments in that acceptance in as many different ethnic and religious groups as possible. The study also addresses the question of how, in the light of the findings, future research can best be carried out into acceptance of homosexuality in religious and ethnic groups.
