Original title: Noch markt, noch staat. This publication presents an international comparative analysis of the Dutch nonprofit sector. Historically this sector, populated by foundations and associations and nestled between government and the market, has been treated as the preserve of private initiative and civil society. Using up-to-date data from more than 25 countries, the sector can now be systematically placed in a comparative perspective for the first time. The data are drawn from the Johns Hopkins Comparative Nonprofit Sector Project.
