In this thesis,a new tumor imaging tracer in nuclear medicine is studied. This tracer,L -3-[123l]odo-alpha-methyl-tyrosine(IMT) is an artificial amino acid suitable for SPECT imaging. The thesis starts with an overview of radiolabeled aminoa acids in general, continues with a method for the production of lMT, a study about tracer behavior in tumor cells in vitro,a pilot study in patients and ends with application in three specific groups of cancer patients
