The European Mediterranean regions are expected to encounter drier summer conditions and warmer temperatures for the winter of +2 C and of +5 C for the summer in the next six decennia. As a result the natural vegetation will face harsher conditions due to lower water availability, longer summer droughts and higher temperatures resulting in plant stress conditions.
