Embodied Intelligence is a relatively new area of interest. In contrast to the traditional artificial intelligence (GOFAI), it approaches intelligence as an emergent property of the interaction of embodied systems with their environment. Rather then applying the 'divideand-conquer' (modularity) principle to investigate the high-level intelligence of the human mind (like using language, expert knowledge, planning), the embodied intelligence community investigates the low level intelligence (like avoiding obstacles, reactive/ adaptive control) through the construction of complete embodied systems
