This paper examines the dynamics of ethnicity in South Sulawesi. Mandar is a tribe (ethnic) that lives in the area. This region consists of three regencies (before expansion) which challenged from Mandar kingdoms, ethnic try again confirmed its glory by extending political rights to form an autonomous region through the establishment of a new province in South Sulawesi. This paper focuses on problem, how is the struggle order of forming new province in the former Mandar section and why does formation movement appear in the former Mandar section.
