This paper presents the comparative study of effect of basalt fibre on compressive and split tensile strength of\ud M40 grade concrete. The basalt fibre was mixed in concrete by (0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%) of its total weight of\ud cement in concrete. Results indicated that the strength increases with increase of basalt fibre content up to 1.0%\ud beyond that there is a reduction in strength on increasing basalt fibre. The results show that the concrete\ud specimen with 1.0% of basalt fibre gives better performance when it compared with 0.5%and 1.5% basalt fibre\ud mix in concrete specimens
