The focus of this thesis concerned modelling the dynamics of rapid dense granular materials flowing over inclined channels, using in-depth theoretical analysis, discrete particle simulations (DPMs) and an accurate micro-macro mapping technique. By a thoughtful combination of each of these individual elements, a beautiful blend has been established among different scales, i.e. from particle to continuum. Overall, a sincere effort has been made towards developing this blend, which is able to help understand and emulate these phenomena-rich inclined channel flows.
