Contradictions porteñas: modernity, modernism and modernization in Jorge Luis Borges during the 1920’s

The aim of the article is discuss the concepts of modernity, modernism and modernization from the propositions raised by Marshal Berman and Néstor García Canclini. The fierce transformation of Buenos Aires during the 1920’s will be the focus of the analysis.
