This essay raises the question of the contradictions that affect the status of the subject in the contemporary era. It starts from the theoretical assumption, common to the philosophical generation of French poststructuralism, that the subject is never ‘one’ but always multiple. A review is then undertaken of the theoretical contributions of neo materialist feminism, which, referring to the genealogies of Gilles Deleuze and Michel Foucault, has tried to describe the metamorphosis of subjectivity in the age of biotechnology.
