The effect of increased UV-B radiation (16 kJ/m2 per day) on the level of chloroplast pigments and rate of photosynthesis and growth of seedlings of cucumber in two stages was examined. In the cotyledons subjected to UV-B radiation content of chloroplast pigments and photosynthesis rate was higher than in controls. In the leaves of 3-week-old seedlings increased UV-B radiation limited chloroplast pigments level, intensity photosynthesis and growth.\ud \ud
