Manual gesture input is a key component in multimodal human-computer interaction. In this position paper, we describe the design of a series of experiments aimed at the construction of a bimanual gesture repertoire for natural, cooperative, co-located interaction with large displays. The experiments constitute of observations of, and Wizard of OZ experiments with, our target users. These users, life scientists, are working on their own real-world tasks. Our contribution is a usercentred approach for the design of this repertoire
