Benim Adım Kırmızı (1998) is a postmodern novel in whic Orhan Pamuk (1952) -in a historical frame- set sup a new discussion among the discrimination between Eastern and western wiew of and style kept up to date. The fundemental thematic problem dealed in this work is the conflict between two different- Eastern and western – trandition in drawing art. The basis of this problem critically conveyed to the novel by the author is the acclesiastical conservative structure of otoman culture and art concept against to westwern modern art concept.
