Objective: Prostate cancer is a common disease with a multifactorial and complex etiology. Genetic variants influence the level of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) gene expression and protein function that are involved in susceptibility to and the prognosis of several cancers. Materials and Methods: In this project, we selected 40 patients with prostate cancer and treated them with androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT). The prostate cancer patients treated with ADT were divided into two groups, those with a time to progression (TTP) < 12 months and those with a TTP > 12 months.
