Aims: The aim of this study was to compare the 5-year outcomes of patients with multivessel disease (MVD) involving the proximal left anterior descending (LAD) artery who were treated with sirolimus drug-eluting stents (SES), bare metal stents (BMS) and coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG). Methods and results: Clinical outcomes were compared between the 682 patients enrolled in the ARTS-I and ARTS-II study who had MVD involving the proximal LAD, and were treated with BMS (27.4%), CABG (30.2%), and SES (42.4%).
