First record of Mengenillidae (Insecta, Strepsiptera) from the Balearic Islands

This is the first report of the strepsipteran species <em>Eoxenos laboulbenei</em> De Peyerimhoff, 1919 and <em>Mengenilla</em> sp. Hofeneder, 1910 on the Balearic Islands. Several males of <em>E. laboulbenei</em> were found in samples obtained using a UV light suction trap on a cattle farm in Majorca in October 2012. A number of empty male and female puparia of <em>Mengenilla</em> sp. were found in Ibiza in April 2003.<br><br>Se cita por primera vez la especie <em>Eoxenos laboulbenei</em> De Peyerimhoff, 1919 en las Islas Baleares. Varios machos de esta especie se encontraron en capturas obtenidas con una trampa de luz ultravioleta situada en una finca ganadera de Mallorca durante el mes de octubre de 2012. Varios puparios de machos y hembras de <em>Mengenilla</em> sp. se encontraron también en Ibiza en abril de 2013
