In the summer and autumn of 2014, in the lower basin of Bârzava river, three flash flood waves formed following a large precipitation quantity fallen in the upper river basin as well as in the field area. The first flash flood occurred at the beginning of August (31 July - 5 August in Gătaia hydrological station), the second flash flood was measured between 15 and 19 September (in Gătaia hydrological station), while the last flash flood occurred at the end of October, this passing through the Gătaia hydrological station between 23 and 29 October.
