Intimate diary: source for research and educational tool

This article discusses the possibilities of using intimates diaries in primary and secondary education, not only as a source of research, but also as an educational tool, enriching the process of didactic transposition of academic research to the classroom. It is a reflection on the wrapper of sincerity that characterizes personal records that can involve the teacher-researcher in the aura of strength, conviction and veracity of writing itself. Aware of these limitations, we present some excerpts from intimates diaries published, examining how they can be used in the classroom, depending on the teacher's ability to realize them issues related to the content discussed in their respective disciplines. Given the social dimension of intimates diaries, it is important to notice that these supports record the dialogue of an individual with his time and place, can articulate issues in various interdisciplinary approach, with the possibility of having access to a different view of certain historical facts compared with that found in official historical sources
