Multiple Hepatic Arterial Anomalies: A Case Report

With increasing incidence of hepatic transplantations and quite common gallbladder and gastric surgeries, it is essential to understand the possible anatomical variations in order for the successful outcomes of the surgical interventions and minimise the chances of intraoperative and postoperative complications. According to Michels’ classification there are 10 types1 of anomalous arterial supply to the liver1, to which two new types2 have been added by López-Andújar R, et al. In this case report, a hitherto unreported variation namely, replaced right hepatic artery (RHA), left hepatic artery arising from common hepatic artery, middle hepatic artery arising from common hepatic artery and an anastomotic channel between the common hepatic artery and left gastric artery, is discussed with its probable clinical implications
