Criteria for estimation of added inductance and resistance during spiral ferromagnetic wire scanning of single-core power cable armour by means of a parametric electromagnetic converter are proposed. Research into variation of the introduced criteria in the frequency range from 100 Hz up to 100 kHz for different wire spiral steps is done. Possibility of using coils as sensors for determination armour step influence on power losses caused by eddy-currents and circulating currents in power cable line is shown
