The surface roughness is one most important requirement in the machining process. The determination of machining parameters is an important stage in the manufacturing process and tool life. In this paper we propose to optimize machining parameters of iron in milling process in an industrial plant agricultural machine using response surface methodology (RSM). We calculated the effects of machining parameters: speed, feed and depth of cut on the response variables about surface roughness and cycle time of the milling operation.
