In this article the prospects of use exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) in diesel engine. EGR system is the most convenient and the least harmful way for the reducing NOX emissions in terms of deterioration of the engine. EGR system has the advantage over other methods, such as compression ratio, water injection and other, because a power characteristic changes fraction-ally. High specific heat capacity values of com-ponents such water vapor and carbon dioxide provides a reduction temperature of fire inside the combustion chamber and reduces the amount of nitrogen oxides
