Objective: Plasma total adiponectin reveals a sexual dimorphism indicating that gonadal steroids may be involved in its secretion and/or metabolism. However, results from previous reports are conflicting and data regarding the influence of ovarian steroids on adiponectin's multimer forms are scarce.
