<p>Background and purpose: In 2012, in Eastern Sumba 21% of children under 5 were malnourished; at the KawanguHealth Centre (KHC) it was reported that 3.4% of children were underweight. This study was aimed to investigaterelationships between cadre knowledge, motivation and behavior of child carers with the nutritional status changes ofchildren from KHC.</p><p>feeding behaviors and change in nutritional status. Data on cadre knowledge and motivation was collected through aself-administered questionnaire and through interviews conducted with child carers.
