The Problems and Prospects of Sustainable Recreational Nature Management in the Small Bend of the Don River on the Example of the Basin of the Bolshaya Golubaya River

The article is devoted to the opportunities of tourist-recreational events organization in the basin of the Bolshaya Golubaya river located in the small bend of the Don river. This area is characterized by rich natural, cultural, historical and recreational potential. The article contains the data on the expeditions to the studied areas during the field seasons of 2013-2014. The author also cites the data of statistical research performed using the method of expert assessment with the assistance of specialists in sports tourism and recreation – directors and employees of touristic companies of the city of Volgograd, who are tour operators for domestic tourism, and professional tourists. Using these data the author made numerous maps of the recreational activities forms, which are possible to implement on this territory. The generalized map of the recreational use of nature in the basin of Bolshaya Golubaya river was created on the basis of these materials. There are also hydrological and road networks of the region on this map. The studied area is suitable for organizing and conducting different recreational events: sports and health tourism, horse riding, cycling tourism, agrotourism, ethnographic tourism. Managers of tourism enterprises, sports and tour groups can use the results of this research at the stage of creation, organization and conduction of recreational events on this territory
