Vascular endothelial barrier is defined as the ability of endothelial cells and their components that make up the microvascular wall structure in controlling the cellular components and marco-molecular substances in blood from penetrating vascular walls. It is the place for the selective exchange of oxygen, nutrients and metabolites, and has kernel effect in maintaining myocardial micro-environmental homeostasis.
