The article presents the results of using infrared screens protecting the engine in engine gondola in PZL W-3 helicopter on limiting infrared emission to the surrounding. The analysis was performed in the method of numeral modelling and computing simulation (hover and horizontal flight forward). On the basis of the obtained results the guidelines to construct the screens were developed
