Some Growth Parameters of Chub (Squalius cephalus) Living in Uzunçayır Dam Lake (Tunceli-Turkey)

<p>This study was carried out in Uzunçayır Dam Lake between May 2011 and September 2012. A total of 334 specimens (169 male, 161 female and 4 juvenile) of <em>Squalius cephalus </em>(Linnaeus, 1758), which ranged between 0-XI age groups, were investigated in study and male/female ratio was determined to be 1:0.95. Total length values ranged from 13.00 to 36.20 cm for males, from 13.60 to 33.80 cm for females; weight values ranged from 25.82 to 616.00 g for males, from 22.10 to 494.00 g for females; condition factor values ranged from 1.041 to 1.233 for males and from 0.890 to 1.298 for females. Length-weight relationship equation was determined as <em>W</em>= 0.0073<em>TL</em>^3.1357 (<em>R²</em>=0.95) for all population. The von Bertalanffy growth parameters of population were calculated as <em>L∞</em>=40.29 cm, <em>K</em>=0.16 year^-1, <em>t₀</em>=-1.76 year, <em>W∞</em>=800.46 g.
