In the late 2013, Boris Demur presented his project Spiral Journey in the Art Pavilion at Zagreb and, through this, promoted the spiral as a theme, starting point and inexhaustible inspiration of his art. Apart being inspired by the spiral as a cumulative and painterly sign, Demur tied his work to the spiral as a principle which generates structure and as a form with iconographic consistency. By introducing variety into the spiral as his sculptural and formal constant, Demur creatively superseded his previous experience as a performance and action artist whose work took place in galleries.
