The review offers a positive evaluation of V.V. Nikitin’s monograph, where he summarizes findings of his long-term studies into the Neolithic Pit-Comb Ware ceramic tradition in Mari-Kazan Volga region. The reviewed monograph generalizes topographic and planigraphic features of sites and structures and provides detailed characteristics of the stone inventory and ceramics. These data, also helped by the most recent developments in radiocarbon dating, are then used to consider the cultural and chronological attribution of the sites and help identifying stages in their development. A special feature of the monograph is a corpus of all studied sites
